Description
With the resurgence of silver fish fishing on natural venues and commercial fisheries over winter we have decided that it is time to produce four new groundbaits specifically for silvers.
We have developed these groundbaits in conjunction with some of the best silver fish anglers in the UK including Des Shipp, Lee Kerry, Steve Saunders, Mick Vials, Michael Buchwalder & Will Freeman.
We took a fresh look at the market and decided to produce four new groundbaits all of which could be mixed straight from the bag or mixed with the others in the range to tailor a groundbait for a specific day on a specific venue.
Being able to mix them with each other was of great importance to all of our anglers as natural venues change and therefore the groundbait needs to change to suit the conditions and the methods on the day.
In general to create a heavier mix for slower break down in deeper water use So Natural River to strengthen the mix, for a darker mix with less feed increase the amount of So Natural Black, for a more active, lighter mix increase the amount of So Natural Lake and for a mix which is sweeter with a higher food content increase the amount of So Natural Bream, the possibilities really are endless.
So Natural River
A heavy mix with strong binding properties means it is perfect for using on the feeder or balling in on rivers. Being heavy will ensure that it goes straight to the bottom before breaking up. It is a slow acting dormant mix that is ideal for carrying other baits such as chopped worm and casters to the bottom or it can be added to other groundbaits to make them heavier and bind better for fishing in faster flow or deeper water.
Mick Vials (England Feeder Team) says "So Natural River groundbait is one of my go to groundbaits, I always carry it in the van. I like the fact I can add it to any groundbait and it makes it heavier and bind better, this means I can tailor my groundbait to suit the situation on the day."
"Used straight from the bag it mixes up into a really heavy groundbait which binds well, so it balls in easily and can be used to carry plenty of chopped worm, but one of my favourite feeder skimmer mixes is 1/3rd River, 1/3rd Bream and 1/3rd soil which is a nice heavy dark mix with plenty of feed for the skimmers."
Mixing Instructions
So Natural River is simple to mix. Empty the 1kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket, fill a 1 pint maggot tub with water, pour this onto the groundbait and mix thoroughly, then allow it to rest for 30 minutes, during this time the water will be absorbed into the groundbait. Then for best results; to remove any lumps and create an even consistency, pass the groundbait through a riddle and it is ready to use.
When fishing sun and wind may dry the groundbait out a little, to combat this you can cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel or if it does dry out just add a little more water and mix again.
